Imagenation, a community base not-for-profit organization, is funded through grants, public and private gifts, and admission fees. Your much needed contribution will help to support independent cinema from the African Diaspora through Imagenation events and programs.

In-kind Donations

 
Imagenation is happy to accept your in-kind donations. Here’s what we can use:
• 8.5 x11 paper
• CD’s
• New or used DV cameras
• New or used DV Cam decks
• New or used Video projectors
• A new or used sound system and sound equipment
• Portable outdoor lighting
• Once-used mini DV and DV Cam tapes
• Metal or wooden seat risers to accommodate 100 theater seats
• 100 new or used theater seats
• 35mm projectors
• Beta SP decks
• Concession stand equipment
• Laptop computers
• Cash registers
• Any type of working automobile

Volunteering:

Imagenation, a community based not-for-profit organization, is run primarily by volunteers. Donating your time to Imagenation is a worthwhile way to contribute to this organization and to support independent cinema from the African Diaspora. Imagenation is happy to accommodate students who may want to intern for school credit. Previous volunteers and interns have become permanent members of the Imagenation team.
As a volunteer you will be asked to help:
• Coordinate and manage events
• Greet guests at special events and collect audience data
• Organize and maintain film, audience and press databases
• Organize and maintain tape archives
• Correspond with filmmakers and performers
• Sell concessions and specialty items
• Publicize Imagenation
• Create and execute street promotions strategies
• Complete general office work
